I loved this! What a beautiful way to pay homage to people you love and great memories, AND be inspired. I often struggle to be ‘inspired’ by other people’s outfits without trying to copy them exactly (and then falling down the rabbit hole of now ‘needing’ a dozen new things) - your examples help so much! I especially love how you always have your own take on the inspiration outfit.
Love that you did this! “When I look at photos of me proudly wearing my Tammy Girl tops and jeans, I’m reminded of simpler times, and zero responsibilities. Those clothes remind me of reading Sugar magazine, sleepovers with friends and renting a DVD on Fridays from Blockbusters.” Fellow Brit nodding along and feeling the nostalgia here! 🙌❤️
Harry! I love the fashion flashbacks — they truly tell the story of a great style exploratory and who you were striving to be.
I am crafting a fashion essay collection around this very premise — love, loss, working in fashion and finding my authentic self all told through what I wore — because what we wear genuinely shapes who we are and who we aim to become. It’s filled with fashion nostalgia, and along with laughter there’s some ugly cry moments. While it may be my story, it’s all of our journeys — we’ve all been there, finding our way. One garment at a time.
What I love about your post is that you challenged yourself to see if the styles still “fit” … a part two would be fun!
I loved this so much! Definitely down for a part two. Especially enamored of the look you did inspired by your sister. Also it’s just so nice to see how your beautiful young face translated into a beautiful grown-up face. 😘
Lover this post so much!!! Love that you took inspiration from your family's style and shopping your closet. I used to love a bit of Tammy Girl as welk. This is what I'm going to go through my old photos this weekend and take inspiration :). One question what dimensions is your silk scarf? Whenever I try and wrap mine around it's completely the wrong size.

I grew up in Northern California. We called the television a “boob tube”
