How to find absolute gems on ebay

It’s no secret I love a good thrifted piece, and i’m very well versed in finding gems on preloved sites like The Real Real, but what about Ebay? After reviewing my wishlist, I wandered how much of it (or at least pieces inspired by it) could be found here? My sister is amazing at sourcing great pieces on Ebay, so inspired by her, I wanted to see what was out there. That, and ultimately, how to make the most of ebay. And let me tell, you…there are some incredible pieces to be found at incredible prices, especially if you know what to search for and how to navigate what can sometimes feel like looking for a needle in a haystack!

A Minimal Silver Brooch
I absolutely adore the silver brooches that Agmes make (Gertrude brooch above), and truth be told, my desire for these actually inspired this entire piece. I’m very particular about where I prioritize my spend when it comes to my wardrobe, and after going back and forth on my wishlist, I decided this was something I didn’t want to shell out over $500 for. Naturally, I wondered what was lurking in the depths of ebay and to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Within three minutes of searching, I found the perfect brooch with a similar look and feel for $15 (yes, real silver too) !!!! It had a slight tarnish but I have an incredible silver polish that has always brought tarnished pieces back to life, so I hit purchase and I can’t wait for it to arrive!
The keywords I searched for were ‘modern, minimal silver brooch’ I also added ‘925’ ‘real silver’ ‘Agmes inspired’ ‘brooch trend’, ‘silver minimal pin’ in various searches. Here’s a few other pieces that tempted me, all real silver…
