Thank you for sharing the nooks and crannies of this adventure and congratulations on your progress! I started the year by committing to the Rule of Five, that is, allowing myself to 5 purchases only, with such a level of "I'll do this no problem" confidence that turned out to be unrealistic. However, what I learned about myself, my habits, and my relationship with my wardrobe is worth the adventure.

I think that’s the beauty of all this is just learning more about ourselves, it really is an adventure. Thanks for coming along for the ride x

Harriet, this is so so impressive. As somone who is too afraid to embark upon this quest and fears failure, you sharing your experience helps me plot my own upcoming adventure.

Thanks Neela! I don’t think you can fail at a challenge like this because no matter what happens you learn more about yourself and your wardrobe x

Love love love this…I’m in the middle of month 9 with the only exception being (uniform)black t shirts for work because I destroy them and they need to be replaced. And I’ve had many of the same feels the greatest 2 are control and freedom! The new creativity is also nice (so many “shop my closet” new outfits!) but for sure control and freedom are my top 2 takeaways. I’m looking forward to applying not just mindfulness but also thoughtfulness when I consider shopping again.enjoy the ride!

This was a really helpful glimpse into how you are breaking down what you are learning from your no buy! I especially like seeing what your most worn pieces are quarter to quarter! I want to see how this would evolve for me.

Huge congratulations - both with the no-buy and recognising and learning to handle the depression.

When I read about this challenge I realize that my wardrobe is not up for it. I have tons of clothes but I rewear infrequently and rarely repeat outfits. In short, I have more “icing” than “cake.” I’ve done no-buy challenges in the past, but maybe I should think about a similar one. Later…no need to be hasty!

Thank you for the inspiration- your outfits are cool and professional. 💕

Totally get what you mean Sheila. I think that was one of the main reasons I wanted to do this challenge to put my wardrobe to the test. It’s definitely been eye opening. Just noticing what I wear on repeat and what have been wise investments, but I still believe there’s a lot of value in the ‘icing’ as you brilliantly put it. I find myself having to get more creative with the icing part x

Can’t take credit for cake/icing, Harriet, but it’s a good metaphor.
