How to pack for long trips with multiple occasions & activities
What I packed for a two and half week trip to England
It wasn’t until I started packing for a two and a half week trip to England, that I found myself going back and forth abit about my final packing edit. So in today’s post (which i’m writing at my mum’s kitchen table whilst I snack on copious amounts of french fancies and toasted Soreen slathered in butter, aka…heaven) I want to share the problem solving tactics I used to pack a large suitcase (with some room to spare) that would see me through multiple occasions, activities (and subsequent personality changes) during this trip.
While there are some similarities in how I pack for short trips, (especially those that only require a carry on) the biggest difference with a longer trip is it can be harder to plan out every day, and often, nor do I want to. I desire the ability to feel a little more spontaneous with how I dress, but I still like to feel there is somewhat of an edit vs a suitcase crammed with stuff, most of which won’t get worn. In addition to using my 4 step process you’ll see below, there were 5 questions I used as a guide to help me pack (which I recommend using the next time you have to pack efficiently for a longer trip):
