How to dial up your WFH base outfits

When it comes to the work from home (WFH) outfit I want it comfortable and chic, but I also want to be able to tweak it/add to it quickly in order to dial things up in seconds. This article is packed with ideas you can use to turn your WFH bases into chic outfits from the slightly polished, to ready for an evening out at a moments notice. (I’ve made twelve looks in total. Free subscribers will be able to view my first WFH base and how I would elevate it, and paid subscribers will be able to see the full edit).

WFH Base 1 - The Matching Set

T-shirt - Pants - Earrings - Bracelet

Matching sets work really hard in my wardrobe all year round, especially when it comes to creating WFH outfits. It’s that beautiful segway between wearing your pyjamas and looking polished because of one continuous block of color. The pants were very kindly gifted to me from Le Set which was super exciting, especially because these pants were on my wishlist! They did not disappoint, 100% cotton, elasticated waist, deep pockets and a really gorgeous cut. I paired them with my & Other Stories Relaxed tee, and my Lie Studio silver earrings (which when I last checked were on sale).

3 ways to dress it up

Jacket old Toteme (similar here) - Shoes - Bag

Option 1 - If I had to leave the house to say meet a friend for coffee, i’d probably throw on top my Toteme Denim Jacket, add a structured bag and a two tone pump to add some smartness, but still keep things feeling somewhat relaxed. Sometimes all we need is to add to a look, rather than start from scratch.

Blazer thrifted - Sandals - Bag - Silver choker antique

Option 2 - If I had zero capacity to make a decision after a day of work, and I wanted a kind of ‘could be for any occasion fit’, i’d probably just keep it all in the same color palette, add a blazer and keep things super simple. The moment you add a blazer magical things happen (at least in my world they do). I also dialled up the silver accessories. Adding in a silver choker gives a little more interest to a monochromatic look, plus the blazer has a faint pinstripe just to add some texture and stop the outfit reading to flat. I also LOVE a flip flop to give it that relaxed tailored look.

Sleeveless blazer - Loafers - Bag

Option 3 - A little bit of layering thanks to a sleeveless blazer in a lighter shade adds a nice contrast to the column of black, and the tan loafers add a nice pop of color. I could add a clutch bag and this would make a really nice look for casual drinks or dinner out where i’d have to walk there.
