7 ways to style shorts this summer
Plus bonus styling ideas to make your old shorts feel new again
I’m having a moment with shorts this summer, I just can’t seem to get enough of them!
ICYMI and you’re looking for my summer short recommendations, I created a classic short edit (all under $100). Hopefully it goes without saying, any time i’m showcasing how to style an item, feel free to use this as inspiration you can apply to your existing wardrobe. All items shown throughout are pieces from my existing closet.
1. The tank, blazer & belt combo

To me this is how I would wear my shorts all summer along if I could get away with it. I just feel more me with some kind of outerwear added into the mix. My linen blazers see the most use during the summer months but I do relish the opportunity to pull out slightly heavier blazers (mostly silk/cotton blends) for evening. I think there’s nothing chicer than a blazer draped over the shoulders, the arms loose and free.
2. The tucked Shirt with (or without) rolled sleeves

Shirts of all kinds see a lot of wear in my wardrobe. I just love the slouch of a sleeve rolled up with a pair of shorts, especially with a half or full tuck. When the temperatures really sore, that’s when I opt for linen shirts, in particular a sleeveless linen shirt. I also love this look without a belt where the focus is on the simplicity of the shirt and shorts. For this look to feel like me, I like the shirt (at least) a little bit oversized and not at all fitted. I think it adds a nice contrast when the top half feels a little more boxy vs the bottom half.
