I’m officially one month into my no buy 365 no buy challenge, to see if my forever wardrobe is indeed just that and I would sum up the first 30 days as the honeymoon period. There’s been no real pangs to shop just yet, and I’m still feeling really inspired by this challenge (and my wardrobe).
Side note: I also want to say a HUGE thank you for all your messages of support regarding my last substack post on navigating weight gain and your forever wardrobe.
One of the things I tried this week was making all my outfits Sunday evening on the Indyx app in an attempt to alleviate decision fatigue knowing I had a busy week ahead. To my suprise, this actually worked really well, and i’ll definitely be doing it again. It felt fun to create outfits at a time when I had the capacity to sit and think through what I had coming up that week, and how I wanted to feel in my clothes.
The main things I recommend considering if you want to try this yourself
Check the weather for the week ahead and take into consideration when planning out your outfits (especially shoes).
Think about what you’ll need to carry (if anything) especially when it comes to your bag of choice.
Consider if the outfit can easily work for multiple different occasions if you won’t be changing from day to night.
Monday (Look 1) Meetings in town
After a relaxing weekend, I often feel the most inspired to get dressed up on a Monday. I did a wardrobe switch over ready for spring and this thrifted blazer was one of the pieces I was most excited to get out, this and my cream strappy sandals from Toteme. Plus these Agmes earrings add a bit of fun to a very structured look.

Tuesday (Look 2) Working at a co working space
I wanted to be comfortable but still feel put together. I knew i’d be carrying a big linen tote with my laptop and work bits and bobs, so having the Toteme small t lock bag gave the look a little more polish. As someone who doesn’t find ballet flats comfortable, these Chanel slingbacks are one of my favorite pieces in my entire wardrobe, because they work well with every kind of look and they have just enough of a heel that I never feel like i’m walking barefoot.

Wednesday (Look 3) Working from home & Zoom Calls
I love an oversized shirt, especially with a half tuck. I find an oversized shirt feels like a nod to ‘workwear’ but keeping it oversized makes it feel a little more undone and relaxed.

Thursday (Look 4) Working from home and zoom calls
A shirt is one of the hardest working pieces in my forever wardrobe because of how versatile it is. This one from Everlane has a super soft texture, and I actually like wearing it more like a jacket than a shirt. I also love breaking up an all black outfit with a good belt and a shirt in a contrasting colour. Both the loafers and the shirt give the outfit a bit more interest, especially when paired with the gold hard wear.

Friday (Look 5) Date night
Date night usually means dinner and drinks, which means I want to feel elevated and have room for a delicious meal. If I had to sum up one of my go to base outfits it would have to be a white t-shirt, black trousers and a belt. It’s one of those outfits I feel my best self in. One of my favorite colour combos atm is black, brown and white and this brown Frankie Shop blazer is one I bought maybe 2 years ago now, but I love how it falls on the body and the shade of brown is perfection. I added my pre loved find of the century my Jil Sander bag, my Lie Studio Julie earrings and boots because we walked to dinner.

Saturday (Look 6) Lunch date and wonder around town
I love being able to wonder around book shops, coffee spots and exploring all the LA neighborhoods on the weekend which means comfy boots and an outfit that’s equally comfortable.

Sunday (Look 7) Hike and brunch with friends
Could I be any more LA? I know, I hike now. Anyway, Sunday hiking is something I actually really enjoy, especially in spring time when it isn’t too hot. Again comfort, and practicality wins here.

So that’s it, 7 days of outfits done. Planning in advance was such a time saver, and even if I did change up the odd earring or accessory, it was nice not to be starting from scratch each day, especially when I knew the week ahead was going to be busy. It was actually fun waking up being like ‘what am I wearing today’ and then checking my app to see what I had pre planned.
One of the biggest perks of planning ahead was really thinking about what I hadn’t worn for a while in my wardrobe that I could add in to my go to outfits to make them feel exciting and fresh again.
