5 Outfit ideas for warm weather fall
How to feel like it's fall when it's still warm out
At the time of writing this, the temperatures in LA are back in the 90’s. It’s HOT out! But in a desperate bid to get on board with the weather we’re having this time of year, and lean into gratitude that LA is my home (and complain less about the weather), I thought i’d share how i’ve been dressing for a warm weather fall, and actually…rather enjoying it! I’m going to share the main tweaks/additions i’ve had to make stylistically to signal to my brain it is indeed fall, which include…

1. Add a closed toe shoe
Even if my blazers end up around my waist or on the back of a chair, adding in a closed toe shoe is signaling to my brain that it is indeed fall. These were the Allison Bornstein collab with Jack Erwin in black suede. Living somewhere that doesn’t see a lot of rain is reminding me to wear these suede pumps more!

2. Add a knitted texture (minus the sleeves)
While it’s unlikely i’ll be sporting a chunky oversized knit any time soon, I have enjoyed the fact I can bring in a little knit action thanks to this incredible knit tee my mama made me. This wool is non itchy, and it’s actually incredibly light. I think because we don’t get too much humidity in LA i’ve been surprised at how easily i’ve been able to get away with wearing this. If you do live somewhere with humidity I would switch this for a lighter fabric with the same texture as a knit.

3. Light layering over linen
It’s no secret how much I love a linen matching set and I loved how this look came together just by layering with a sleeveless blazer. As soon as I added the sleeveless black blazer it felt a little more fall. The black accessories also help toughen up what can read as quite a whimsical summer set.

4. Wear pyjama shorts with a jacket
The thing with fall warm weather is I find it’s only really hot around lunch time. In the morning when I wake up and in the evening the air has the smallest of chills. This is why I enjoy wearing a light weight jacket and some sweat shorts with a heel.

5. Wear flip flops and a summery bag with a lightweight trouser
I love nothing more than being able to wear open toe shoes year round living in LA, and as such when the weather is still warm I make the most of it by getting to wear a flip flop style shoe with a trouser. Granted if it was super hot out the trousers would most likely be linen, but having a breathable shoe and a woven bag feels all kinds of good when the sun is out but you feel the slightest of breezes.
These outfits have proved to see my through these warmer temps recently and still feel like myself. Thanks for reading!
