15 things I'm excited to wear this fall from my own wardrobe
The fall items i'd buy first if I was starting my forever wardrobe from scratch
Indulge me…because for the most part, temperatures are still scorching here in LA! Alas, someday soon, I will be able to wear these pieces. After reading
‘12 favorite purchases from last year that I can’t wait to wear this fall’ and loving it, I thought this was the perfect way to flex my fall content muscle and share what i’m excited to wear knowing I won’t be able to buy anything new until February next year (thanks to my 365 no buy wardrobe challenge).I loved the idea of celebrating the stand out pieces in my own wardrobe that I know without a shadow of a doubt have already proved themselves to be incredibly hard working, comfortable, and items that make me feel like me. For the most part, if I was staring my fall wardrobe from scratch, I feel confident these would be the pieces I would prioritize buying.
1. Toteme Denim Jacket
Without a doubt this Toteme denim jacket is one of my most worn items. Lightweight, and an interesting take on a classic piece. When I look at my color wheel in my Indyx report the color that makes the most appearances in fall after my neutrals, is denim blue. Denim and tan are one of my favorite combos. This jacket is incredibly spacious, even as a US size 12/UK 16 I still bought an XXS and I can easily fit a sweater underneath if I needed too. I also love this with a double denim look and a contrasting shoe.
2. Aritzia Effortless Pant
The Aritzia Effortless pant in black are my equivalent to denim, in that they’re so versatile. Some people love jeans, but for me, my go to will always be a black pant. From looking at the data, these are one of my top 10 most worn items from the past 183 days of my no buy 365 wardrobe challenge.
3. Old Celine Loafers
These had been on my wishlist for so many years. These are the perfect example of how some things are just meant to be, because they found there way to me for $150 on the TRR, after years of wanting them. The color is more of a chestnut brown, and I love how they look when I wear them with grey and black. These feel like my version of a pop of color.
4. & Other Stories Half Zip Sweater
This & other Stories half zip sweater (similar here) is the perfect thing to throw on when you don’t know what to wear but you just want to be cosy and still look put together. Whether its a countryside walk with wellies, or a nice lunch with jeans and boots, this piece is definitely one of my fall go to’s. One of my favorite things about living in LA is being able to wear sweaters with flip flops for more than one month at a time.
5. Pleather Trousers from Abercrombie Curve Love
I will never not think of that Ross on friends scene when I talk about leather or pleather pants. These pleather pants from Abercrombie are so comfortable to wear (I sized down one size to a 31) they feel more like you’re wearing leggings. They have the same cut as the regular straight leg jeans and I love the contrast in textures when I wear these with a soft knitted cardigan or oversized sweater.
